Direct answer
Complete the Tutorial Gym, start on Beginner difficulty, stay close enough to hear your squad, and treat stamina, ammunition, and medicine as shared resources. Follow the marked objectives and regroup before extraction.

Prepare before deployment
The safest first match begins outside the queue. Use the tutorial to learn the combat and inventory rules, then choose the difficulty designed for learning.
Move as a team
Responders spawn apart and must link up. Loot on the way, but do not let optional rooms pull you away from the objective or the people carrying vital supplies.
Protect the Responder
Extraction is the goal, not a high kill count. A surviving Responder can continue to grow, while death can erase that character and their individual progress.
Frequently asked questions
Should a new player start in Solo Mode?
Solo Mode is useful for learning routes and combat without the normal permadeath risk. Co-op is still the main experience, so use solo practice to prepare rather than replace teamwork.
What difficulty should a beginner choose?
The developer renamed the easiest settings to Beginner and Normal to make their purpose clearer. Start with Beginner until the objective loop and stamina economy feel familiar.
Do you keep progress if you die?
Account and match rewards use several systems, but the Steam store is clear that a Responder can die permanently and lose their individual progress. Do not risk a developed character for optional loot.
Is voice chat required?
No, but the game is designed around proximity voice, shared resources, and coordinated objectives. Clear pings and staying visible to teammates can compensate when voice is unavailable.
